Effective date: July 11, 2026
Someday (”the app”) is a digital legacy app that lets you record video, audio, letter and photo messages to be delivered to your loved ones at a time you choose. Your privacy is the core of our product. This policy explains what we collect (very little), what we never see (your messages), and your rights.
What we collect
Your name (optional, entered during onboarding) is stored only on your device. Your messages, recordings and guardian list are encrypted on your device before they ever leave it. We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, location data, or usage tracking of any kind. The app contains no third-party SDKs, no ads, and no trackers.
End-to-end encryption
Every message you seal is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is generated on your device and stored only in your personal iCloud Keychain, which Apple protects with end-to-end encryption. Encrypted copies of your messages are synced to your private iCloud (CloudKit) database so you can restore them on your own devices. We operate no servers of our own and have no technical ability to read your content. Not even we can see your messages.
Camera, microphone and photos
The app asks for camera and microphone permission only when you record a video or voice message, and photo library access only when you attach photos. Recordings are encrypted immediately after capture. Nothing is uploaded anywhere except your own private iCloud database, in encrypted form.
Purchases
Someday offers a single one-time purchase (”Someday Forever”) processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The first 30 days of full access are free; after that, your existing messages remain stored and visible, and the purchase is required to seal new messages.
Account and data deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all data at any time from Settings → Delete my account & all data. This erases your messages and recordings from your device, deletes the encrypted copies from your iCloud database, and destroys your encryption key, making any remaining data permanently unreadable. This action cannot be undone. Your purchase remains tied to your Apple ID.
Important note
Someday delivers memories and personal messages. It is not a legal will, testament, or estate-planning instrument, and its contents have no legal effect.
